Coincidentally, my last post mentioned the Virginia Creeper Trail.
One week later, I am walking around Abingdon, Virginia, to see a play at the Barter Theatre. This is the place where you start the trail. How funny.
This town was so beautiful. It's over 2 hours away so my mom and I used it as an exploration day. We walked and explored and antiqued. Not as much as we wanted, but we knew seeing a play was the highlight.
Here are a few photos of some of their old buildings. They were magnificent! I probably should have taken more. I definitely was in awe of many. Maybe I'll get back again and spend more time.
Because of this little adventure, I missed posting my Tuesday blog. And by miss, I was so tired and purposely ignored it.
This post is to make up for it.
This was also an excuse to mention and feature old architecture. This certainly is a passion of mine. Small town USA seems to be a must for my exploration.
And also coincidentally, here are some pics from another small town visit - Elizabethton, Tennessee. I had visited it for the first time in 2020. I ran into someone that was making big efforts in building the downtown back up – despite the current restrictions. I have to say, seeing it earlier this week, I was in awe of what this town is doing to work on preserving its history.
So that's it for now. I'll be out and about to more towns. I may or may not post about them. But I do want to keep the exploration spirit going. Do you explore? Do you explore your own little town?
Where should I go next?

Oh yeah. And the play we went to see? Sense and Sensibility. It was great!
