History: Completed 1928. Opened as a “movie palace” on October 1. Entry was 40¢ or 60¢ depending on show times. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and honored as Tennessee’s Official State Theatre. After reopening in 2005 under the management of the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation, it has become a world-class performing arts center. Located on South Gay Street in Downtown Knoxville, Tennessee.
