History: Circa 1950s. J. F. Goodson started a grocery store in Morristown, TN in 1882. The family and business moved to Knoxville in 1926, but as a coffee roaster, not a grocer. This iconic sign was formerly near Gay Street Bridge then moved to the hill of Sevier Ave in 2012. It was removed until further notice as of October 2023.
Also available at the East Tennessee History Center in Knoxville, TN.
