Original watercolor painting on illustration board, acid free matting and backing with custom altered wood frame for a one of a kind framing.
History: History: Circa 1897. Opened to traffic on July 9, 1898. Designed by Charles E. Fowler. Oldest of four extant bridges over the Tennessee River in Knoxville. It is a steel spandrel-braced, cantilever-arched design. Major repairs and upgrades were made during the early 2000s. Since painting this scene. The bridge had been tested and deemed dangerous for vehicle traffic. It was closed for quite some time. It has since re-opened in Spring of 2026 to pedestrians only. Located at the south end of Gay Street, spanning the Tennessee River, in Downtown Knoxville, Tennessee.
